Getting started
Getting started in EVE can be hard so we have some simple tips for new players to help them on the way.
GET THE MOST FROM EVE:
1. Try to train just one character, called your Main. Training alts (each main can have up to 2 alts) are usually a big waste of time. We normally use alts only for price checks in various markets around the universe or for hauling. If you must have a second character to train then try to buy another account or use EVE’s “two for one discounts” that show up every few months to help lower the expense.
2. Make isk (money) quickly. Focus entirely on one of the following for the first the months: mining, missions or trading to make fast isk for ships and skills.
- a. Mining. Get to a retriever quickly so you can do big time ore or ice mining. This can take 30 to 60 days to do it right.
- b. Missions. Work you way up to level 4 missions quickly as possible to make big isk. This can take 3 to 6 months based on your personal skills. You can fly with others to accelerate your skill, isk and standings.
- c. Trading. Learn the market and buy and sell to make big isk. Most of us learn from other market masters after we get a few million isk to use for buying and selling funds.
